I thought it might be useful to have a topic to express either how good or bad your writing is going and share your Nano experience with the rest of the group.

I am having so much fun, even more fun than last year!  I have a more character driven story than last year and they are completely surprising me with what they do.  They seem to keep me laughing, crying, or just shaking my head most of the time.  I'm not really sure how my book will end, but I'm sure my characters will tell me when the time is right.   ;D

So how is everyone else's novels going?  The good, the bad, and, of course, the ugly.  Lets hear it so we can all share in some way each other's joy and heartache!  Isn't that what NaNoWriMo is all about?

(also, 140,000 Wrimos participating this year!  Woot!  :o)

I'm going to have to go with "the ugly" on my end. I have great ideas for the middle of my novel, but the beginning is tripping me up. I'm forcing myself through it so I can get where I want and, accordingly, my writing is pretty crappy. I keep telling myself you have to crack eggs to make an omelette!

I'm looking at some ugly writing right now...I have ideas but some aren't much more than vague sketches so I'm getting bogged down in trying to "see" what's going on.

And a huge plot bunny popped up yesterday...it's making my whole book sound cheesy so I'm trying to find a way to write around it.  Not going so well.

Ugly. Very, very ugly. My narrator likes to blah blah blah about things that don't really matter.

Don't worry too much about being behind now (just a little worried).  Chris Baty is almost always behind all month and always has a come from behind victory.  His second and third novels, he admitted in the $50 donation pep talk book, were totally awful.  He hated the plot and the characters.  Just remember, the month isn't over.  The month isn't even a quarter over.  There is still a huge amount of time to mount a comeback.  ;)

BTW: I have no idea what to do with my characters now.  There's plot there, just I don't know what it is yet...  :-\

Driving cross-country and emptying an entire house of furniture within a period of three days can wreak havoc on one's word count.

O.M.F.G.

I have reached the 20K line. sure, i'm late in the game, but I have never ever written this much before. It's way exciting. and way scary. :D :D :D ;D

I wish I was cool and had already written 40K+ though. But then I guess I wouldn't be as excited.

I pulled myself over the finish line today, and realizing my novel wasn't done I wrote 2206 more words.  My novel is completed and verified (yay for me)!

Nu-uh! My words!

Not if we gang up on you and steal them ...

After a hot streak this weekend, I've hit the mid-20 doldrums and gotten my chars into what I believe is going to work out to be the climax already. >_<  This story has definitely NOT gone the way I thought it would!

Need ... more ... words ... !!!
