So I've been writing so much that my arms have started to cramp up and are now pretty sore. Anyone know any stretches for hands/arms/elbows? If so, please, I'm sure we could all benefit from knowing a few to keep us in tip top shape to keep writing.

I know that sometimes I open up my hand flat and press down on my fingers backward with my other hand until I can feel the stretch on the inside of my wrist. That's a good exercise to keep from getting carpal tunnel, apparently. And if feels goooood after I've been typing for awhile. :D

I highly recommend kneading bread dough.  After a long writing session, making a pizza just feels so relaxing, works out the kinks.  And it's a fairly simple task so your mind can wander through your latest plot problem.

Fingers: Lock your fingers together, turn your hands so that your palms are facing away from you, then stretch your arms forward.

Wrist stretches: Pull your thumb down with your other hand towards your inside wrist, then back around the other way. If you do it often enough, you'll eventually be able to touch your wrist on both sides.

Arm stretches: Hold one arm straight, and use the other arm to pull it horizontally across your body. Also, put one arm behind your back as if scratching it (elbow pointing up) and push down on top of the elbow with your other hand.

Hope these help!
