Hey all. This is Matt, and I'm totally new to NaNo. I was aware of it before, but just this year got the nerve to plunge in :p I've been writing off and on for a while, but will be taking my first crack at NaNo and looking forward to it!

Hey everyone, I'm Athena, I live around Wasatch County. This is my first year doing NaNo, and hopefully my first win.

Hey everybody this is my third NanoWrimo and my first time actually getting involved with any of the communities.  I thought this year I might try to go to one of the get togethers.  So if you're planning one i would def like to come.

Hi--I'm Beverly; probably one of the oldest here at 57, and a grandma; I keep NaNo-ing but never winning (last year I had to drop out early due to family insanity that was out of control). Hoping to actually accomplish something this year, even though the family is even MORE out of control, but hey, that's the NaNo bug for you. . .Good luck to everyone!

Hey guys! I'm erratic247, known as Alex in the real world. This is my second year. I still haven't finished my novel from last year and don't think I ever will ;) I'm writing a realistic fiction type story and am way excited!

Good day. My pen-name is Kristian S, and I'm a resident of Alpine, Utah. I'm 17-years-old and it's my first year doing NaNoWriMo.

I'm actually more of an actor than a writer. I was in a movie called "Little Secrets" in 2001. It was a nation-wide release in the states and in Norway.

The story I'm doing is based on several idea's I've been putting together since I was about 14. It's a sci-fi steampunk-ish story called The Emerald Journal. It's all about human clones who are treated like slaves. Is there a literary term for stories that are analogies for morals? because... um... that's kind of what I'm doing. I'll tell you more about my story later.

Either way, I hope to accomplish my 50,000 word goal. It will be difficult since I have to worry about school, a job, and a play.

Well, that's all you really need to know about me.

Hey, there! I'm becky920 and I live in the Sandy area. My last NaNoWriMo attempt got bogged down with research on Revolutionary-era clothing and other nitpicky details, so this time it's going to be set in the modern day. Beyond that, all I know for sure is that it's a murder mystery. Here's to the finish!  :)

You mean an allegory? And by the way, I love your title. Also for some reason I like writing about clones, so your story sounds right up my alley. :D

Hiya,

My name is Heather and this is my first time signing on for nanowrimo.  Not sure what it's going to feel like to average 1,667 words a day but determined to go the distance.  I like the idea of this forum.  I'd like to have some place to vent amongst those who share my passion and pain.  Hopefully others will feel free to do the same.

Many of you are much more clear about what you will be writing.  I have no title, no plot ... I figure I'm just going to start writing and see what I have to say.

May the muse whisper in all of our ears over the coming month. :)

Hullo, I'm brytning on just about every internet page there is. I like consistency, what can I say. I just moved to Utah too in my first year at SUU. It's been fun.

This is my second NaNo. Last year I only managed 2,000 words I think before I gave up. I'm shooting for a little higher stars this month ; )

I'm having a hard time figuring out the genre for my novel...I entered "Young Adult Lit" but that's not very descriptive. It's about a girl who creates words and collects paint chips. Maybe my genre will come along as my story does.

Hey, I'm Chels. Strangely Lovely over at the actual Nano forums, but I've been using that for five years and it's getting really old. xD I've done Nano for five years and I've never won. It's time to stop embarrassing myself here.

I tend to stay in sort of a suburban gothic/magic realism genre. This year I'm scrapping everything I did last year and starting over with the same concept-- it just won't leave me alone.

I'm Brant, mid-thirties in Farmington. I'm a recovering "one day" writer, so NaNo seemed like the perfect kick-in-the-pants start to the rest of my life ;-).

I'll be hanging with the SLC group this year, so I plan to show up at the kick-off event this Saturday. Is it intended to be a "write-in"?

Hey! I'm Mads, also Madison. I live in Layton. I'm 15 but I'll be turning 16 next month. This is my first year that I'm actually planning to do Nano but my sister did it many years ago and I joined last year, knowing that I wouldn't have time. So this year I'm planning on actually doing something.

I have been writing news/nonfiction for the last two years so it's been a while since I've actually written anything that hadn't really happened. I'm hoping this year to write a sci-fi/fantasy story that I've had in my mind since I was 11 or 12.

So yeah, I'm part of the Ogden group for this year, but I probably won't be able to go to any of the get together things. I guess I'll have to wait until next year when I'll have my license and a car. But anyway, I'm so excited. Just over two days now!

I'm cadranni, it's my 3rd NaNoWriMo (well, the second because last year I really never got going).  Hoping to actually win this year.  I homeschool my kids, and have a new puppy, and life in general is crazy - so what the heck - I need to add 1667 words a day to my life.  ;)

My genre is scifi/fantasy future history - seems like a lot of us are scifi/fantasy of some sort :).  Have some ideas I've been kicking around for a couple of years, but no plot no characters yet, just a scenario.  I always wanted to be a novelist when I grew up...

Yo!

I'm Kris or toshi whatever you like. If you see a toshirodragon anywhere else on the net its me.. I've never had a message saying name already in use. I'm in Ogden and this is my first time doing Nano, I decided to do this as the book I started in August has hit 90,000+ words and is no where near completed so I'm dividing it into two books. And since life has been rather chaotic lately, I figure the only way I'll finish it anytime soon is to have NaNo cracking the whip at me! bwahahahahaha

Anyway, I'm 43, very shy when offline and a total anime freak. Not an otaku, just a freak :D I also adore yaoi and have spent WAY too much money on both of them in the last 4 years.

My cat Neko is here on the bed to cheer me on!! *the hubby just rolls his eyes*

If anyone, within 20 minutes driving time, needs a ride to the get togethers give me a yell I have a truck but I don't mind lending a hand.
